Writer's block. Sort of.

So, thenext bit is obviously Juan's POV about the argument with teh mother. nOnly - I need an explanation for Dante's bruise that isn't a classic abuse cover "he fell" or anythign like that. Or a way to present the truth to the mother witout causing ballistics.

Now, I have already come to the desicion that he has a variation of the Venetian coat of arms somewher eon him (possibly a shoulder blade) and I am stuill trying to come up with a tattoo he could have on his hip. Any suggestions? Could it be possible to fit this on his hip? Ifg not, then where on him should I stick that one because it is so very like him?

Also: I am SURE that he has nipple piercings.... what I am trying to decide on, is if he should have OTHER piercings.... what think you guys? I am too lazy to make a poll. So gimme suggestions!

I believe I have the most of things mapped out. oNly, now.. I have to work out Dante's family. I believe he has a mather andseveral younger siblings - am thinking 2 siisters, one 15, one... maybe 13, and a little brother who's 10 or so. (wwas originally thinking 3 sisters and a 5 year old half bro but... dinnae feel like it any more, want there to be less friction or somethuing...)

pnöly, I have no idea how Juan is going to contact the mother and what to say to her when the times comes. Or how the mother is going to react. *le sigh* or if he should contact her as soon as he finds out about Dante being underage and missing, or if he should confront Dante first...

Now, I mam asking you lot to help me plot forward a little. I have decided that Dante WILL end up back in high school - so I need to know about the wya hiughj schools work. I know some of you lot are int he US ones... so tell me, what grade would he be most likely to and on, taking into avccount Juan's possible influence? (Dante is 17, and dropped out somewhere near Chrtistmas the yeart before. or rather, got kicked out due to cutting class and fighting) whart sort of classes would he be required to take? What sort of classes are there on offer? how long are the days usually, from so-asnd-so- to what o'clock? DO enlighten me, yo.

So, nano is progressing well. Expect part 6 sometime soon.

dreamwise... I had some really weird dreams, involving some really strange things, dead people, me getting a fricking BAT tattooed to my arm and for some reason, a lot of running around with xzombiexkittenx...

in oyther nrews, was rwoken repeatedly. (And no, not just by the snooze every 11 minutes or aso for 4 hourrs...) Mom called, dadd called, mom called, and then... Bad People called.

Basically, someone from that cursed place I was for my last year in institutions called, they will be holding some sort oif an art thing at Nuku (Look! THe retards can draw!) And, well... they asked me if some of my old drawings I had left there coyuld be used.

THe feedback/attention whore that I am? I said yes, there willl eb a formality type stuff later, but.. yeah. DOes this make me an artist? And if you eps on the f-list who live in Oulu pop by NUku and see somthinhg that has to do ewith the Nuorten Ystävät orr something similar, well.... Ii drew those gay elves in BDSM gear :D

Nano has started. I am currently at 2.6K, and plan on hitting 100K today. (I know, crazy me) THere will be chunk posted at 5K :D

Why Nano?

Well, it is the NaNoWriMo season again. And it is time for me to get off my ass and start bloody well writing again.

Why?

That is the interesting question.

First time I did nano I was 16, almost 17. To me, it was something muchly awesome, something to share with hoarmurath and actually write an original story of certain length.

I did. And it was drivel. Ended it at 50K and continued to write a little more over the next year – iirc the total word count is 72K.

Last year? Originally, I planned to write something in Finnish, in a genre I had not done before. And ended up creating FotM. By the end of November I had hit 90K.

Now? I am at 135K and have no plans of stopping. But I believe you see the pattern.

To me, Nano is a kick-start to longer works. It is a reason to get off my ass and WRITE; instead of just plotting and planning and never getting anywhere. It offers encouragement, support, a sense of belonging/community that I crave and have not experienced much in my life. It is something y friends do, too.

So, the reason why I do nano? Because it is fun. And because it works for me, as a writer. My first nano was drivel. My second one was… err… better.Although if I weren’t modest, I’d say pretty bloody awesome – but I am not letting my numerous fans make my head swell :P) My third one should be good – because with each word that comes out, I learn more. About what works. About what doesn’t. about smut. about characterization. about how not to be an ellipse whore and a semicolon addict.

First year, I wrote diary-format.. not sure about the genre, Most likely erotica/suspense. Last year, I wrote dark romance. This year? I plan to write chick lit. it is something new for me. Something I can learn from.

So, that is why I nano. To be a better writer.

So apparently there is no one who can take the ticket. WSoisterling will do her best to get a refund... even if it means I will end up in a shoebox cabin. Hell, I'll just sleppthere anyway!

On the other hand... the nano forums are open. Yippe-kay-eee. am aksing about the health issues from rapid weight gain + travel. *sigh*
