Yay! Ara back! Enjoy the reading. Should you make your way over to England, do you think you could bring them with you so that I can steal read them? I only have Storm Breaking and it's all lonely on my shelf.

I don't think there's anything too important I should point you towards that you haven't read.

Yay *hugs* you're back!

It is goodness to be back :D I am tempted to start blathering about the new fantasy bunny to folks :D

Argh! Fantasy bunnies! Everywhere! :p

Feel free to blather. I seem to attract people who wish to blather about their writing. And you're probably the only one who lets me blather back in return.

So, if you blather about your fantasy bunny, can I blather about genetically twinked vampires?

From: [identity profile] arabwel.livejournal.com
Yay for blathering! Freely blather back :D

My bunny started from a discussion between qan adventuress of the cliuched sort beign told by a Brydwyfe of a noble guardian sort (brydwyfe = breeder-wife, think Handmaids from the tale) that she is perfectly happuy being servile to her Lord JHusband and that her husband is a good man and that she gets her greatest joy at being at his side and giving him kids and all that. Then IO got the scene where the adventuress uses magic to spy on the chick with the Lord and there's a tender scene of "lord husband, I might be preggers" "ReallY`" "Really. Hope I give you another strong son" "I know you crave a daughter so I will oray for a sweet daughter" "Really`?"! "Really" "I looove you! ""And I you" sdortt of thing. Figure the soiety is hgeavily religious, witht he real ruler too young/stupid/spomething to do anything and the priest-regents habing established one religion over all othersa. the rebels have the'ir own rightful ruler they want to set on the throwne -. and the lord guy ends up helopng them when his actual wife is killed. Said wife was a virgin because after he founbd out she hads been traumatized by witnessing her mother being raped, he never touched her and cut his own arm to get bloodied sheets. and he did not intend to get a brydwtyfe pout of the girl, but aftrtr she accidentally bared her hair to him, the choices were brodwyfe or let her be stoned to death so he took her as a breeder and managed to fall in love... I think she will tell the tale fo the wife to the adventuiress, too.

woah. abbling much?

*hugs*

Sounds neatish.

But I am currently all discouraged from blathering back because my work things aren't going quite according to plan. Neuroscience is making me feel stupid and I don't like it. So I intend to ignore it until that feeling goes away and I can go back to it with renewed confidence.

Am glad you think so. For once I think the romatnic lead is going to be relatively sane, if feverisjhly devout in religion... but also understands enought hat it is not right to ty to suppress the toher religins. I kind of think he is some sort of a Lord Hiugh Marshal who was in charge of some elite guard or something - and with the rebels, he trains an equal force, cursing them, rteacdhing them everything he dcan... telling them that if they tyhink this is hard, they should go see how the guardsw they will fac3e train..

adsn ioops, balthering again..

Ignoring is a good idea *hugggles* you are not stupid, just most likely tired and overwexerted or something like that. a break = goodness.

I hardly see how I'm overworked. I've hardly had anything today. Other than attempting to write the excavation definition and the thing this morning. But tired I'll grant you. Not that I've ever not tired, but it's getting into the realms of sleepiness now.

And religion can be fun. Somehow one of my characters (Kym, remember him?) has mutated into some sort of priest. It does solve some rather nice problems, I'm just not too sure where it came from.

*Huggles* Don't overexert yourself, better to take it easy and not riskk getting overtly stressed or sick... (and why,m yes, I am motherhenning)

Religion can :D Yay for Kym being a riest sort... priests can be much fun.

Oh, and I think i want to marry a nice catholic boy anmd have 6 kids. :P

It's okay. I have abandoned all pursuits of work and am playing Sudoku and browsing hogwarts_hocus. And thinking of applying as Sartha, the undead harper.

Well, his people in general keep to the older traditions of the world, in that they send all their magicians to study in the temples and let them keep necromancers and healers. So they would naturally want a priest of their own for the village, since they are way out in the sticks and so don't have anything other than a simple shrine to worship at and no one to conduct funerals or whatever. Plus it gives me an excuse have him awandering. Plus make sure he is extra traumatised at all the violence he gets exposed to being a gentle preacher from a fairly pasifistic order. Poor lad.

Haa, sudoku usually drives me crazy...

Poor Kym... but I am sure he will live and be strenghtened by it all :)

The ones I had in mind are the Owl ones, they're... rather magnificent in the 'what was she thinking?' category, but still very amusing.

What ones have you read?

I am hoping to see more Albrrecht - he is, imo, v. v. awesome a guy :D

Date: 2006-02-09 11:21 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] satanbaker.livejournal.com
Yes he is. :D He has two books mostly from his perspective, from when he first came to Valdemar and then with Selenay's failed marriage. They're quite good. *nod*

(Though, Mercedes is guilty of one of the funnier self-insertations ever, Alberich hooks up (in his younger days) with Myste, the blind, completely unphysical scribe. (Mercedes Lackey's nickname is Misty, if you hadn't heard.))

Yay! Welcome back to you and Jen.

I have nothing to say on the subject of Valdemar as I can't say I've even heard of him. But yayness for reading.

Neither of these things are important or need immediate attention, but I'm a h0r for feedback so... This is Rumplestiltskin 7/10 and on another note I'm probably going to be running a Crossover Fic-a-thon because I assheart crossovers and fic-a-thons and I feel like the two need to be combined. But the post I made on that isn't very interesting as of this moment. More to come.
